Gliding trials are available at a number of locations across the UK and makes for a fabulous treat. It's amazing how quiet and peaceful flying without an engine is. Up there with the birds there's nothing but the rush of the wind as you circle and climb - this is a sensation you must try once in your life. Trials start from around £80 per person and include full instruction and safety briefings, plus a short flight of up to 20 minutes, depending on the wind!
